Pink Tape by Harbor House Collective

I'm not gonna lie --- this is some good shit. I'll skip the bullshit and get to the point --- so I can go out and light up this joint! Let me consult my notes from yesterday...     I wanted a good sativa for the afternoon and picked up Pink Tape from Harbor House...I had been considering it for a couple weeks but, due to the slightly-lower than I was used to levels of THC, I stupidly slept on this one---even though I've really been feeling HH lately: their Runtz had me coming back for more over the course of a couple weeks; and the  Cake Crasher  unfortunately sold out after I tried it but it was the best herb in the Wedding Cake family I have tried in a while; maybe since two years ago when I first tried legal herb and Wedding Pie had me staring at the wall...but I digress.           Opening the bag unleashes the fresh aroma of fruit, flowers and spice; I pour out a nice-sized nug revealing a rainbow of color,...

High Mark

Image
"Hi, Mark," I greet my neighborhood budtender. "Hey, Gabe? What can I getcha today?" "High Mark," I repeat. Or so it went one day a couple of months ago when I first tried the brand with their Strawberry Gary. A phenomenal smoke: great high, incredible  taste & smell of real strawberries, with some really high limonene levels. If you're looking for a nice indica with more of a fruit flavor, this is a good strain (later tried some from Bountiful Farms which was not quite as strong, more "hybrid" in effect, with a more nuanced flavor, linalool dominant)---High Mark seem to be positioning themselves in between the budget brands like Bostica , Altitude, Perpetual Harvest , Farmers Friend...and the more "high-end" lines...which I think is a great idea. I believe the Strawberry Gary ran $30-$35; I later tried the Tropicana Cherry which was unbelievable, if you have never had a strain from the Tropicana family do yourself a favor, as ...

Jack Herer

*****Update March 2025******      The following quaint little vignette below, waxing rhapsodic on the bouquet of a $40 eighth from Originals, has now been superseded in my soul's memory by the past month I have spent smoking cheap ounces of Jack, same brand but small buds, lesser THC% and not as fresh on the terpinolene but a pleasant little high to ween myself off and start to focus again as Spring is now upon us and I'm nearing the end of my third ounce, getting myself weaned to the point I'm ready to stop... read about my struggle trying to take a break here.     Anyway it's still lovely to smell every morning, and makes my days happy, productive and blessed; rather than falling asleep on the couch at 8:00 PM surrounded by candy wrappers...photos added below the main article: enjoy.     ****************************      I picked up some Jack Herer by Originals the other day [this was now a week or tw...

Bananaconda

Bananaconda by Wellman Farms/Farmers Friend This is a potent sativa. I can't stress that enough. Saying that, it is fantastic flower and in this instance, Wellman Farms have done an amazing job and once again offer some of the finest herb you're ever gonna find for 30 bucks in Boston. I have had this strain before from Impressed! but my favorite local budtender and I agree that Wellman's came out better; at least this batch anyway. I have previously stated that Farmers Friend tends to be either functional (it gets you high, helps with anxiety, or balances your mind for instance; or helps with some other specific goal) or, in the case of Mango Haze, flavorful. Bananaconda is both. The bouquet is very fruity, being limonene-dominant, and this is actually the first time I have really been able to taste the powerful banana flavor in any so-named strain (taking me back to smoking boiled banana skins in 1998 after reading about it in the Anarchist's Cookbook online, in 8th g...
