Bananaconda

 Bananaconda by Wellman Farms/Farmers Friend

This is a potent sativa. I can't stress that enough. Saying that, it is fantastic flower and in this instance, Wellman Farms have done an amazing job and once again offer some of the finest herb you're ever gonna find for 30 bucks in Boston. I have had this strain before from Impressed! but my favorite local budtender and I agree that Wellman's came out better; at least this batch anyway.

I have previously stated that Farmers Friend tends to be either functional (it gets you high, helps with anxiety, or balances your mind for instance; or helps with some other specific goal) or, in the case of Mango Haze, flavorful. Bananaconda is both. The bouquet is very fruity, being limonene-dominant, and this is actually the first time I have really been able to taste the powerful banana flavor in any so-named strain (taking me back to smoking boiled banana skins in 1998 after reading about it in the Anarchist's Cookbook online, in 8th grade before I ever had weed---which doesn't get you at all high, but it will cure a headache in case you're wondering) and the flavor lasts like Doublemint Gum, still going at the bottom of the bowl with a very-last hit tasting like fruit and not ass, with a nice smooth OG-like taste in the middle betraying some of this strain's complex indica/hybrid heritage. However, I want to stress one last time the strength and sativa nature of the effects of Bananaconda. I have a heavy tolerance so I can't technically say it makes me "too high" but I definitely get bugged-out, in my own world, unable to pay attention to other people talking (or, conversely, overwhelmed by trying to mentally process their words and actions) for at least half an hour, with the potential for anxiety/paranoia more real than most other sativas I have had recently, yet never quite taking over. It isn't relaxing at all. I would say more dissociative than 'psychedelic'. Despite being insanely high I am able to be productive and focus on tasks; this writing came out far more articulate, if also rambling, than my average indica review. Which reminds me of a joke:

"Why do so few reviews of indica get written?"

But seriously, I do suggest you get an indica for relaxation, eating, bedtime, all that good stuff, afterwards, rather than just keep smoking the Bananaconda. For this purpose I grabbed another bag of Farmers Friend's Chocolate OG and this one was much better, giving the same relaxation I noted in my review of that strain, but boasting big beautiful buds, as does the Bananaconda, that are fresh and fragrant more so than the drier 'smalls' you sometimes get. Both are available at Blue River for $29 plus tax.
