Rolling Stoned

 Welcome to Rolling Stoned - just another blog on the internet, you say? Truth to tell, it's even worse! Just some guy getting high and trying to form a sentence that is not only coherent, but somehow dazzles the reader's third eye like some great, undying poem of eternal truth rather than ephemeral stoned syntax here on my blog, as I do with poetry on my YouTube Channel 

    The phrase 
    goes back to
                                    when I 1st started writing & playing music
& smoking grass listening to records: so initially it was the name of a short-lived garage band playing Rolling Stones and Doors songs (that maybe didn't actually even exist except as a pipedream as I sat there smoking my pipe-weed with Merry & Pippin, thinking of King Theoden...fishbowling the large living chambers of my mother's hobbit-hole full of thick, wispy potsmoke in the forgotten moments of stoned Springs I'll always remember & cherish the story --- read about it here)

Mainly I wanted a space to reflect the possibilities of legal cannabis and contrast to my beer and wine blog The Discriminating Wino

I intend this to be a collection of strain & brand reviews, dispensary spotlights, short stories both real and fictionalized, reminiscing about smoking illegal weed in the early 2000s, getting kicked out of high school and focusing on poetry, some of which was featured in my book All Seasons which is excerpted here on my poetry blog Free Verses: poetry for the people...as well as stoned, silly poems posted to my YouTube, along with joints being smoked walking back home from the dispensary, turkeys in backyards, Porchfest, poetry, music, food and more...

Fave Strains of 2024

 Some of my favorite and most memorable strains I've smoked over the past year: Trop Cherry: Anything from the Tropicanna family is sure to please. Delicious terpenes and a powerful sativa head-high balanced by the tropical flavors providing more of a well-balanced hybrid mood boost. Got some of the flower from  High Mark  about a year ago; I still remember that as being a significant high that didn't just effervesce in 15 minutes. I Can't Quit You Baby (but I gotta put you down for a while)

    I wake up at 6:00 Monday morning and don't even think about smoking. Still high from the night before, I stumble about the livingroom and collapse into the sofa, pick up The Two Towers and wait for the letters to sit still before my groggy eyes, crusted with stoned sleep and dreams I can't recall.      7:00 I absently scrape my little metal tool in the empty container and realize if I can get it all together there's one more dab of rosin left in here!     Now I'm high but I'll soon come down and gotta go to work...and the dispensary doesn't open till 9. SFV OG (Favorite Things)

San Fernando Valley OG Kush by Originals       This review should have to wait to Christmas, as it's going to be full of a few of my favorite things. First of all, yesterday I grabbed a HALF of SFV OG Kush by Originals for UNDER EIGHTY BUCKS at Blue River Terps on Tax-Free Thursday !      San Fernando Valley OG Kush is a fire cut of a classic strain (OG Kush) and said to have more cerebral sativa-like effects than other OGs. It will definitely wake you up as I can attest after baking this morning! But now let me sip my coffee for a while as I contemplate this perfect high...which to me is ultimately a hybrid feeling of balanced mental and physical effects...likewise, a sweet and slightly spicy bouquet, a little fruity but not dessert-like, almost humble and yet satisfying compared to Originals' Gelato, for example.
