Pineapple Bride & Gary Poppins
(some time last week)
Needed some herb this morning --- yesterday had gotten some Wedding Cake from Perpetual a great strain on the cheap, as you can read in the link...so today I went with another strain from Perpetual, something I haven't tried before, Pineapple Bride...it sounds to be more sativa leaning, what I could use pre-work anyhow. Interesting genetics, a cross of Golden Pineapple with the aforementioned Wedding Cake, actually; crossed with Golden Pineapple, which is not related to Pineapple Express but does share a similar terpene profile to that strain's parent Trainwreck which I have also reviewed. But while Trainwreck is a deceptively sweet-smelling sativa that nonetheless packs a punch, the Bride has a more complex aroma laced with a bouquet of tropical fruit, more on the hybrid side but let's put it in the pipe: Candied pineapple, creamy and mild compared to that other shit, the Trainwreck; even well-crumbled this flower smokes long, giving you a nice sesh just off one bowl back, even outside dealing with the wind today...
Happy-day Hybrid Hits Hard Despite Congenial Aroma
You will be wanting a second bowl though.
Matter fact, as I take a look inside the bag, pouring its contents all out into a bowl to examine, there's a lot of shake in this bag; the mersch of modern weed... old school rankings don't apply: our commercial bud in 2000 AD was like 5-10% THC optimistically; anything in the mid-20s would be considered headies for sure...but headstash nowadays implies top-shelf flower that a sucker is gonna pay $50+ retail PLUS 20% tax on top of that...but I'm walking out with a $19 eighth of some newfangled strain with 26-29% THC, which if I got in a time machine and went back and smoked it with myself in high school, teenage me would get high as fuck and consider it headies...but to me now it's so stale and dry and making me cough if I have too much at once, it's just straight commercial to me now; mids would be Farmer's Friend. But I digress. Time for work. I head off, stoned and ready to have a great day. Let's check in on my lunchbreak, shall we?
This shit sucks...
But after all I get through work and it is more or less a good day. As is often the case with these mild-hitting tropical strains. However, after work I need to stop back at Blue River again and grab some Gary Poppins. This shit is Gary Payton x Red Pop X Runtz, so meeting halfway between Strawberry Gary (which it tastes like: childhood memories of sliced strawberries in milk and cereal on Saturday mornings watching Transformers and Ninja Turtles) and Red Runtz, but hitting like Runtz itself, one of my favorite strains, you can't really go wrong with Runtz. This shit was pretty good.
I went back to smoking the Pineapple Bride in the morning, I mean it's OK in a bowl but a joint --- now that's good. A nice substantial weed flavor hybrid --- not what the E32 has but I gotta revisit Perpetual, the meaning of the name and cheap weed in general...
THC you later...
